Maarintie to be closed to vehicles in September
Light rail construction work is underway at Maarintie. Pedestrian and cycling routes remain open, while route changes are possible.
With the closure of Maarintie in September, vehicle traffic will mainly re-routed via Tekniikantie and Tietotie. In the case of Tietotie and Tekniikantie, drivers should prepare for longer commute times, especially during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
The walking and cycling routes will remain on Maarintie throughout the construction, but the routes on the east side of the street will vary according to the work involved. Car parks near Maarinranta are accessible throughout the construction. The estimated duration of this phase is from September 2019 to June 2020.
Changes in the pedestrian and cycling routes of Maarinrannantie in August
Preparatory work on the Maarinrannatie road will begin in August. At the south side of Maarinrannantie, the walking and cycling routes are provisionally closed in mid-August and Maarinrannantie city bike station will be moved Vaisalantie side of the parking lot to the edge of the area.
Intermittent lane changes at Tietotie
Preparations for the roadwork will begin after mid-July at Tietotie. Municipal engineering will be renewed on the Tietotie from August onwards. Construction work will begin on the east side of Tietotie in August with water and cable pipelines and will continue on the west side of the street as work progresses.
