Otaniemi junk bike collection bigger than ever

30
May

It’s fun to cycle again! During the weekend ACRE, AYY’s Campus Section and OtaHOAS collected abandoned bicycles found in stands in the Otaniemi campus area and in the Teekkari Village. You can see the harvest of the work in the image.

Cycling improves air quality and reduces congestion and environmental noise. Cycling is an environmentally friendly alternative to move from one place to another, which is something we want to encourage on the campus. With the junk bike collection, we want to ensure that there is space on the bike stands for those that are in use. By switching the car once a month or week to cycling will keep the mind and the environment grateful.

If you realize that your bike was collected and you want it back, you have time until the start of September to pick it up on the given dates by filling out the attached form. All collected bikes that are in good condition will be sold in September: then is your chance to buy yourself a working bicycle at an affordable price!

Specific questions regarding the properties of the Aalto University should be addressed to ACRE’s Assistant Property Manager Tuomo Uusitalo at tuomo.uusitalo@aalto.fi.
